About This Dog for Adoption

Ricky's ideal home

Ricky is a wonderful, 3-year-old, Bulldog cross who has well and
truly won the hearts of everyone here at the centre!
Ricky will say 'hello' to dogs when out and about but mainly he
likes to have a good sniff around. He loves water, especially the sea
and quite often goes for a paddle. After a long walk and all the
sniffing Ricky loves nothing more than curling up in his bed for a
nap before the next meal.
Ricky is a big softie at heart and loves his food, walks and belly
rubs!
Ricky can be nervous of new people initially and over handling so will need
a patient home who can keep up with his training, in order to build
his confidence.
The staff have been working with him using
positive reinforcement which is proving to be very successful.
Positive training is ongoing and he is very enthusiastic especially
when he knows that a treat is on offer. He knows the basics sit,
come and wait but his enthusiasm does takeover at times and he
can become quite excitable!
Ricky would prefer to have his new home all to himself without any
other pets or children.
The height of this dog is below the threshold required for a dog to
be considered an American Bully XL type.

Could you be Ricky's perfect match?

Once settled, Ricky is happy to be left alone for a few hours, he will happily settle and snooze, especially if he has some enrichment to complete before his naps! To ensure a smooth transition into the home, multiple visits to the centre along with home visits will be needed to get to know Ricky and build a bond with him.
