About This Dog for Adoption

Nova's ideal home

Nova is a delightful 1 year old American Bulldog looking for a family with lots of love and energy. She is a friendly girl who is excited to meet new people and can sometimes show this by jumping up. She could join a home with children of Secondary School age who are confident around big bouncy dogs. Nova has previously shared a home with others dogs and could do so again providing they are comfortable with her play style as she can get overexcited when playing. We have no history of Nova living with cats but have not seen a high prey drive from her so she could potentially join a home with a dog savvy cat providing introductions are carefully managed. Nova is worried by being left currently and will need someone around the majority of the time with her initially, leaving hours will need to be gradually introduced at a pace she is comfortable with once settled. Nova would benefit from a garden or outside are to play in to burn off some energy.

Could you be Nova's perfect match?

Nova is a lovely girl who came into our care through no fault of her own. We have found her to be a friendly, excitable youngster who enjoys her walks and having cuddles. She can be a little worried around loud noises such as hairdryers and vacuum cleaners and may need reassurance to help learn they aren't as scary as they sound. Nova was housetrained previously and knows "sit" and "paw", she would benefit from learning some alternative behaviours to jumping up when excited and is keen to learn new things.

American Bully Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a American Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the American Bully Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
