About This Dog for Adoption

Roddy's ideal home

Meet Roddy, a lovable 6 year old Staffy cross! Roddy is looking for a home where his humans are around most, if not all, of the time initially. He thrives on companionship and finds being alone quite difficult, so someone who works from home or is retired would be ideal. He’s a polite and affectionate boy who has previously lived with primary school-aged children and could happily live with kids of any age—provided they’re comfortable around bigger, excitable dogs. Roddy would benefit from a safe, quiet space in the home to help him build confidence being alone gradually. He has moderate exercise needs, enjoys car rides, and is well-behaved at the vet. A home with a private garden or access to communal outdoor space would suit him well.

Could you be Roddy's perfect match?

If you’re looking for a loving, well-mannered companion who adores fuss and attention, Roddy could be your perfect match. He’s a big softie who loves being brushed and meeting new people. Roddy knows basic commands and is eager to please. He’s friendly with other dogs and could live with a canine companion or enjoy regular doggy playdates. He’s even cat-friendly! Roddy has made several doggy friends at Dogs Trust and enjoys both on-lead walks and off-lead play. He’s an enthusiastic greeter who might invade your personal space—but always with love. If you’re ready to welcome a sweet, loyal boy into your life, Roddy is waiting to meet you.

American Bully Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a American Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the American Bully Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
