Shelby

4 months

Shelby's ideal home

Shelby is a lovable 3-year-old American Bulldog looking for a forever home. She will thrive in an environment where she is the only pet, as she has little experience with other animals. Shelby can live with secondary-aged schoolchildren who are familiar with bigger dogs. Her positive, enthusiastic nature makes her a great companion, and she’s sure to bring joy to a household looking for a playful, loyal friend. If you have patience for positive training and an active lifestyle, Shelby could be the perfect addition to your family.

Could you be Shelby's perfect match?

Shelby is a social, affectionate dog who loves people and enjoys being the centre of attention. She already knows tricks including sit and down, and is eager to learn more! With her love for treats and toys (though maybe not destructible ones!),she will thrive with ongoing enrichment activities. Shelby loves adventures and travels well in the car, making her the ideal companion for someone who enjoys outdoor fun or road trips. If you’re looking for a fun, trainable dog who will quickly become a cherished member of your home, Shelby may be the perfect match for you. ‘We have sought expert advice and do not believe that this dog would be considered an XL Bully type’.

American Bully Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a American Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the American Bully Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
